In 1951, Parkway Plastics, Inc. was founded by Edward Walter Rowan, Sr. with the express purpose of designing, manufacturing, and marketing quality stock plastic jars and closures for the Packaging Industry.

Parkway was the first company to manufacture a plastic jar, The Original Parkway Regular Wall Jar.

Parkway Plastics, Inc. was also the first company to offer a full line of stock plastic jars, including Cosmetic Thick Wall Jars, Tapered Thick Wall Jars and Frostique Jars.
In 1987, Mr. Rowan, Sr. retired from Parkway Plastics, Inc. and was succeeded by his son Edward W. Rowan, Jr.

In December of 1999, Edward Rowan, Sr. was inducted into the Plastics Hall of Fame, at the national Plastics Museum in Leominster, Ma. Around the same time samples of Parkway jars became a part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.
Parkway has over 8,000 customers and a network of over 400 packaging distributors world-wide.

To this day, Parkway Plastics, Inc. still manufactures the largest line of stock plastic jars in the world and has now added to that list Wax Containers, Dust Disk Liners, Closures and Jewelry Baskets.

Parkway prides itself on the reputation it has built for the highest quality throughout the packaging industry and continues to strive for the goals set forth by its founder.
